Site Tours

There are three sites to tour on Sunday, May 1, 2022. This is a separately priced event and you must be registered for the conference to add the site tours to your registration. The maximum number of participants is 75 individuals. Each site tour registrant will visit all three sites.

Child Educational Center, Caltech/JPL Community - La Canada, CA
The Child Educational Center (CEC) is an early care program for children from infancy through age five, and also provides afterschool and camp programs for elementary age children. The La Canada location is the home of the Outdoor Classroom Project and serves as a demonstration site for those interested in developing enriching outdoor play and learning environments.

Kidspace Children’s Museum - Pasadena, CA
Kidspace is a nonprofit museum designed to delight and engage children emotionally, intellectually and physically through joyful, kid-driven experiences. We invite all children to play, discover, create and thrive, and to explore the world with curiosity and kindness.

Children’s Center at Caltech - Pasadena, CA
The Center offers planned and emergent activities where children are encouraged to explore their world, think critically, solve problems, ask questions, reflect and work collectively with teachers and peers. Teachers nurture a sense of competence and self-worth in every child through appropriate levels of scaffolding. The emphasis is on active, hands-on learning with a balance of child-centered and adult-directed activities that addresses the needs of the whole child.

The cost per person is $55 and includes a lunch voucher for the concessions in Expo Hall A.

Site Tour registrants will receive an email with details about where to meet on Sunday, May 1. Time to meet is between 8:30am and 8:45am. Transportation will depart by 9:00am. Buses will return to the Pasadena Convention Center by 1:30pm.
